Flexible Booking Terms

For all Trains listed below and Cruises

Guests rebooking their journey either voluntarily or due to a cancelled departure can rebook for a 2021 journey on the same itinerary and at the same fare.

If 2022 is preferred, the applicable fare will be charged; guests will be liable to any fare increase.

All guests with reservations made prior to June 30, 2021 for a future journey will be able to reschedule their journey up to 10 days prior to the scheduled date of departure without charge by Belmond.

If, prior to the scheduled departure date, any new government travel restrictions or quarantine measures come into force that affect Belmond’s ability to operate, or guests’ ability to travel (either in the guest’s country of departure or destination), guests will be able to either change their booking without charge, or cancel without charge and receive a refund.

At Belmond, the health and safety of our guests and associates is our highest priority. If a guest tests positive for COVID-19 at any time during the 14 days prior to their scheduled date of arrival with us, we ask that they do not travel and contact us immediately to discuss their options. Guests will be able to change their booking as above or cancel without charge and receive a refund.

Guests who choose to change a booking will be able to select a new departure date from the current published schedules for 2021 and 2022, and any initial deposit already paid will be valid for use against the revised booking.

Please note that all bookings will be subject to availability and a price difference may apply.

Special Covid-19 Terms and Conditions for 2021 Bookings

Option 1 - Ticket Transfer: Ticket transfer without penalty to other persons able to travel on any departure between 01 June 2021 and 31 December 2022*.

Option 2 - Postponement: Postpone travel without penalty and at the price paid for the original booking to any departure between 01 June 2021 and 31 December 2022*.

Option 3 - Cancellation: Cancel confirmed bookings that are fully paid for, where we will offer a refund if there is no alternative.

Please kindly note that The Standard Blue Train Terms & Conditions will apply for any cancellations received between 7 days and departure (proof of cancellation will be requested, as per our terms & conditions).

Cancellations unrelated to COVID-19 received at any time before departure will be handled as per the Blue Train's Standard Terms & Conditions.

Cancellations made after 31 December 2021 are subject to The Blue Train’s Standard Terms and Conditions.

All costs / expenses incurred due to the postponement would be at the customers’ expense (this includes holiday costs such as change of flights, accommodation, shuttles, excursions, etc.).

Golden Eagle Trains Policy is named TRAVEL WITH CONFIDENCE.

UPDATED DECEMBER 2021

Golden Eagle Flexible Booking Terms.

Book a 2021 or 2022 journey now and your deposit will be fully refundable until 31 January 2022*.

If your future trip is cancelled by Golden Eagle Trains, for any reason, you will be refunded.

If you cannot travel due to government restrictions in your country of residence or in the countries you are due to visit on your trip with Golden Eagle Trains, you can amend your booking to another date, up to 60 days before departure.

*Following this date, these Golden Eagle Trains standard terms and conditions will apply.

The date of cancellation is the date on which your letter, fax or e-mail is received by us, and it is your responsibility to ensure that we have received your communication. There will be a cancellation charge:

Cancellation 61 days or more prior to tour departure date - Loss of deposit paid or due

Cancellation 60 days or less prior to tour departure date - 100% of the total cost of the holiday

You will be liable for any bank and currency costs incurred by us related to your booking.

Travel / cancellation insurance is compulsory for this train.

Golden Eagle does not advise booking flights until at least 3 months prior to departure or after they have guaranteed the tour departure.

Golden Eagle Special Measures Against COVID-19

  • All cabins and carriages are disinfected regularly providing long-lasting antimicrobial protection on all surfaces.
  • Physical distancing will be maintained during meal service on board, with enough restaurant capacity to facilitate all guests at one time.
  • Our plentiful breakfast service, including cooked-to-order options, will be served to your guests' table, replacing the buffet.
  • All off-train excursions will be enjoyed in small groups of no more than 25 guests, including on coach transportation where required.
  • All luggage will be thoroughly disinfected before boarding the train and handled by attendants wearing the appropriate PPE.
  • All Golden Eagle train staff are fully vaccinated and wear face coverings throughout the journey for added peace of mind.
  • Lateral flow tests are available on request from our on board Doctor.

Golden Eagle Vaccination Policy

  • All guests and train staff must be fully vaccinated, at least 2 weeks prior to departure, in order to board the Golden Eagle train. Guests will need to provide proof of vaccination as provided to them at the time of their vaccination. Please note, a photograph of a vaccination card is not sufficient.
  • We encourage all guests to take a COVID-19 PCR test at home, 72 hours before joining the tour, as an added precaution. If a PCR test is not readily available, then we encourage guests to at a minimum take a COVID-19 Antigen test at home, prior to travel.

Many border controls are requesting this proof of vaccination, therefore enforcing this policy will ensure that our tours can operate as seamlessly as possible across the various countries we visit. We will continue to monitor the local requirements and, where necessary, will adjust our policies accordingly.

These new protocols will follow the very latest advice at that time from various government agencies and the World Health Organisation (WHO) and all our train staff will undergo extensive training. A British-registered Doctor travels on board every one of our luxury train journeys, providing further peace of mind.

2021 season

Existing 2021 bookings:

  • Final payment 30 days before travel;
  • Two date changes (without penalty) up to 30 days before travel, until and including 2023;
  • Option to transfer reservation to USA Rockies to the Red Rocks, with any remaining credit applied to extras or additional guests;
  • One name change free of charge up to 30 days before travel; at least one person from the original booking must be unchanged.

  • New 2021 bookings made after 4 February 2021:
  • Deposit refundable up to final payment date;
  • Final payment due 30 days before travel;
  • No early payment dates for promotions;
  • Two free date changes for travel until and including 2023;
  • One name change free of charge up to 30 days before travel; at least one person from the original booking must be unchanged.

  • 2022 season

  • 20% deposit, refundable until 3 December 2021;
  • Final payment due 45 days before travel.
  • Ask the Club for Terms and Conditions for new 2022 bookings.

    All Aboard 2022 Promotion

    Available on the three Canadian routes: Packages of 8 or more days: Four free 'perks' - two hotel nights, one transfer, and one meal; Packages of 5 to 7 days: Two free perks. The promotion is available for both GoldLeaf and SilverLeaf until August 27, 2021.

    ROVOS COVID-19 POLICY TERMS & CONDITIONS

    UPDATED MAY 2021

    Rovos Rail includes Rovos (Pride of Africa) and Shongololo Express, referred here as Rovos.

    Rovos luxury trains flexible Covid terms will remain in place until the World Health Organisation declares the pandemic over and restrictions impacting outbound travel ( in particular countries or advisories in place in Rovos’s countries of operation) are lifted . Rovos reserves the right to make changes to this policy. After the pandemic, Rovos standard terms and conditions will apply.

    NOTE: DAR ES SALAAM, TRAIL OF TWO OCEANS, COPPER TRAIL, and AFRICAN TRILOGY journeys are not included in these terms; for information, please contact the Club.
